Evaporator
Evaporators are process units that concentrate a product by evaporating some or all of its liquid. Evaporator type is selected with consideration for product viscosity, foaming, surface adhesion and crystallisation tendencies, capacity, temperature sensitivity and cleaning requirements.
Feyas evaluates the heat-transfer surface, vacuum system, steam and condensate lines, circulation arrangement, auxiliary equipment and automation interfaces as an integrated unit.
Evaporator Types
- Natural Circulation Evaporator
- Falling Film Evaporator
- Rising Film Evaporator
- Agitated Thin Film Evaporator
Depending on project requirements, the system may be evaluated with MVR, ME or TVR energy-efficiency options. Type selection is based on feed and product targets, energy source, product temperature sensitivity, viscosity, foaming and crystallisation behaviour, vacuum level and cleaning approach.
Evaporation Engineering Based on Product Behaviour
Type selection, energy use, vacuum and auxiliary equipment are planned together with product targets.
- Evaporator Selection Suited to Product Behaviour Viscosity, foaming, adhesion, crystallisation and sensitivity are translated into the correct type selection.
- System Design Focused on Energy Efficiency The energy source and MVR, ME or TVR options are evaluated according to process requirements.
- Vacuum, Heat Transfer and Flow Control Vacuum level, heat-transfer surface and product flow are addressed within the same process design.
- Integrated Engineering at Unit Level The evaporator, separators, pumps, condensate and automation system are planned together.
Feed flow and composition, target concentration, product temperature limit, steam economy and utility energy sources form the design inputs. These data inform the selection of evaporator type, heat-transfer area, vacuum arrangement and auxiliary equipment.
The unit scope may include pumps, separators, condenser, vacuum system, piping interfaces and automation. Fabrication inspection and delivery documentation are defined according to the project scope.
