Heat Exchangers

Heat exchangers designed for process conditions to heat, cool, condense or evaporate fluids.
Call Us

Heat exchangers provide controlled heat transfer between two media to heat, cool, condense or evaporate fluids. The exchanger type is selected according to thermal duty, fluid properties, temperature and pressure conditions, allowable pressure drop and fouling tendency.

Feyas evaluates thermal and mechanical design inputs together, incorporating material selection, cleanability, maintenance access and plant connections into the fabrication design.

Heat Exchanger Types

  • TEMA shell-and-tube heat exchangers
  • Finned-tube heat exchangers
  • Plate-type heat exchangers for powder or granular products
  • Double-pipe heat exchangers
  • Reboiler systems

Thermal duty, flow rate, phase change, fluid properties, pressure drop, fouling tendency and cleaning method are considered when selecting and sizing the exchanger. Carbon steel, AISI 304, AISI 316, duplex, super duplex and titanium are evaluated as distinct material options according to process conditions. The fabrication inspection plan is established to meet project requirements; independent third-party inspection may also be planned on request.

Alignment of Process and Mechanical Design in Heat Transfer

Alignment of Process and Mechanical Design in Heat Transfer

Thermal performance, materials, maintenance and fabrication decisions are integrated within one engineering framework.

  • Sizing for the Thermal Process Thermal duty, flow rates, temperature approach and phase change are evaluated together with exchanger selection.
  • Fluid-Compatible Material Selection Material options compatible with the fluid’s chemical and physical properties are assessed individually.
  • Design Focused on Maintenance and Cleanability Fouling tendency, cleaning method and maintenance access are reflected in equipment geometry.
  • Controlled Fabrication and Documentation Fabrication inspection steps and delivery records are planned according to the project scope.
Details

Thermal design inputs include fluid flow rates, inlet and outlet temperatures, phase data, physical properties and allowable pressure drop. Mechanical design addresses operating pressure and temperature, materials, connections, supports and maintenance requirements.

The exchanger type is selected from these data, and the production inspection plan and documentation are prepared according to the scope of supply. Independent third-party inspection may be included in the project plan on request.
