Reactors
Reactors are process equipment that enable chemical reactions to be carried out under controlled temperature, pressure, dosing and agitation conditions. Vertical or horizontal geometry is selected according to the reacting phases, product viscosity and density, heat-transfer requirements and process behaviour.
Feyas evaluates process data together with mechanical design inputs, addressing the agitator, jacket or coil, sealing system, nozzles and plant connections as an integrated equipment design. Fabrication and site integration are planned according to the defined operating conditions and scope of supply.
Vertical Reactors
Vertical reactors used for liquid-liquid, liquid-gas and liquid-solid reaction feeds can be designed in capacities from 50 litres to 100 m³. The source scope includes operating conditions from -40 °C to 350 °C and pressures up to 100 bar. The agitator assembly is selected according to viscosity, temperature and density. Seal type, aspect ratio, wall thickness, nozzles and connections are detailed to suit the process conditions.
Horizontal Reactors
Horizontal reactors may be used in solid-solid and solid-liquid processes, for high-viscosity products, and for granular and powder blends. The horizontal reactors in the source scope are evaluated for pressures up to 10 bar, full vacuum and temperatures from -40 °C to 350 °C. Sealing, shell geometry, wall thickness, mixing elements and nozzles are determined from the operating data.
Integrated Process Engineering for Reactor Fabrication
Every reactor design input, from reaction conditions to site connections, is evaluated within a single engineering workflow.
- Process-Specific Reactor Design Phase characteristics, viscosity, reaction conditions and capacity are evaluated together.
- Integrated Agitation and Heat Transfer The agitator, jacket or coil and process connections are addressed within the same equipment design.
- Fabrication for the Operating Conditions Pressure, temperature, vacuum, sealing and material decisions are determined from the design inputs.
- Engineering from Fabrication to Commissioning Engineering, fabrication, inspection, site installation and commissioning requirements are managed as one process.
The design process begins by defining process fluids, capacity, temperature, pressure or vacuum, the purpose of agitation, heat transfer and site interfaces. These inputs guide material selection, mechanical calculations, vessel and support geometry, the agitator and sealing system, and connections.
Defined inspection steps are applied throughout fabrication; transport, installation, plant connections and commissioning requirements are planned according to the scope of supply. Applicable standards, certification and independent inspection requirements are defined separately at the outset of the project.
